Think globally, take no action locally. I believe that is the saying.
Maybe I’m thinking of: Think globally, protect property values locally because I forgot to save for retirement and my house is my only asset

After scrolling through your comments, I realized they're all negative. I also can see you posted in a Maine reddit that you're 33 single male that SEVERLEY needs relief, so I assume you'll never be married. Hey, good luck with your sad life tho! oooooooooo

Reply to comment by DifferenceMore5431 in After how many days is my house guest a tenant in Maine? by [deleted]
There are jurisdictions that define tenancy based on the amount of days that someone has stayed on your property, irrespective of a lease or payments. OP should contact a lawyer to ensure that this is not a tenancy situation. If it is deemed to be a Tenancy At Will, then a 30 day eviction notice is the quickest. OP should not dispose of any items owned by their sister, nor change the locks without a separate compelling reason, at least until they are able to get a consultation from a lawyer.

Why would they be against this? Most of the nicer Cape homes are on larger lots. If you don’t want to build an ADU, nobody is going to force you.
Having your neighbor put in a tiny home would have zero impact on your daily life…
This is pretty sad and embarrassing.

Last Sunday we were able to see it from Flying point. It was all the way across the river roosting in a tree.

The best part for me is all the rainbow and ukraine flags flying in cape. They all want justice and equality in ethereal terms, but when it comes to their doorstep they fight tooth and nail to maintain the system that perpetuates inequality.

California native here- out there, everything can be a dude. Your dog, your car, your toaster oven, your washing machine, random drivers on the road, your spouse, your kid. All are potential dudes.
Example: Toaster oven just turns off right after starting, wont start up: "Dude, I just want to heat up my hot pocket! WTF?"
Someone doesn't have a stop sign but stops anyways and tries to get you to go when you do have a stop sign: "Dude, you don't even have a stop sign, just go already!"

There's absolutely nothing they can do to stop ADUs, it's the law of the land as of July 1.
I'd love to look the idiots quoted in this article in the eye and ask them how they think a handful of ADUs is going to ruin their community.

Maybe if they weren't a bunch of old wealthy residents I might have some sympathy, maybe. Wages are exceptionally low and costs are exceptionally high. More affordable housing is needed.

They'll be crying when C-Salt can't steal wages from minimum wage workers anymore, cause no one can afford to live in the town.

The biggest thing stopping healthy American communities is the tiny percentage of people who are of means.

They're NIMBYs. They don't want "undesirables" coming into ~their~ coastal town, living on ~their~ lots. 🙃
