Welcome! You might find some good suggestions in threads from past winters if you go back a few pages in the subreddit. My personal kneejerk recommendation if you're an active person (but want to stay within city limits) is Vertical Dreams, a climbing gym on Commercial St. Very friendly folks and a nice array of things to do there!

Heng Won has the only good general gaos. Not too spicy not too bland.

I haven’t tried the listed ones, so really can’t compare, but our go-to is Thousand Crane.

Lived her for over 20+ years. It's just like any other city, only with a much much bigger drug problem.
The only real issues with Manchester are the stabbings or shootings around the clubs off of Depot St but those almost always only involve people that were at the club/bar that had some altercation. Usually two drunk guys fighting over the same girl or something lame like that which escalates to one of them shooting or stabbing the other outside the club.
The homeless generally leave you alone unless they're druggies that are all drugged up and looking for quick cash to support their fix. At night you might have a knife pulled on you if you're walking through a park alone. Just stay out of parks during off hours and avoid long walks alone down the trail systems that go beneath the bridges or by the river. Aside from that it's typical city shit. Occasional car break ins, people egging cars...etc. You'll be fine as long as you treat Manchester just like any other city with problems.

Further up the hill on Hanover has some really lovely neighborhoods too.

I’m sure CO Springs has more crime. But if you lived in the suburbs, you were probably insulated from most of that.

We basically did the same by choice. Career move and back on our home coast.

Like any urban area, it runs hot and cold. I, 23F moved here with my bf, 24M over the summer. The main issue is the places the Homeless hangout. Outside of that, its a pretty safe city. My biggest complaint is that I have found it gard to meet other post grad 20 somethings in the area. You really have to push yourself and branch out to meet people in the area

Hey 23F here I also live in Manchester and am always down to make new friends. I agree it does feel extra difficult at times to do so. I really enjoy boards and brews on elm st for a chill evening out. Feel free to message me as well :)
