The tree street rule of thumb is kinda BS. It applies to a part of nearly every tree street, but not the whole thing.
I bought a house on a tree street and a bunch of locals looked like I just signed up to die.
It was great for 5 years and my neighbors were lovely.

Stay away from the "tree" streets (Elm, Maple, Beech, etc) and do not rent from Blue Door Living. They grew too fast and their maintenance dept is too small to effectively service the number of units they have, so you'll be waiting weeks if anything breaks in your rental.

That all depends on what you think is affordable. If you are moving from a big city even the nice places here will seem affordable. What monthly range are you looking at and for how many bedrooms?

Best of luck. Use Zumper. Do absolutely not rent from Mike Bunie!!!!! Worst landlord ever!

Look outside Manchester. Vacancy is still less than 0.4% and rents are crazy.

Affordable doesn’t really exist any more unless you don’t care about living somewhere where even locked doors aren’t enough. I’m trying to move and buy a house because 2 bedrooms for 2100 plus utilities is far from affordable. And that’s to be in a “nice” area. It’s getting more and more expensive by the year, it’s really not worth it unless you have 2000 plus a month to spend.

Tagging on this, some routers do offer Mac cloning that you could clone the fidium provided Mac address post install!

For night life, you're going to want to head to Elm St.
Cocktail bars: Industry East (intimate, hip, expensive) or 815 (a speak easy concept - you'll need the password from their facebook).
Shaskeen is a great Irish pub, if you just want to grab some beers and a burger in a relaxed atmosphere I'd go there.
Bonfire has a younger/rowdier crowd. It's a country bar, they have games like cornhole and giant Jenga.
If you're looking for something to do with a group, definitely check out Granite State Escape (escape rooms) and Boards & Brews (board game cafe/bar).
My favorite restaurant, Mint, is unfortunately closed due to a fire. But The Crown Tavern is the also great - only open for dinner, so get lunch elsewhere. They do $1.25 oysters and shrimp, I think Mondays?
Further north on Elm Street you'll find Elm House of Pizza which is my personal favorite pizza place in the area. They have excellent food and a great bar. Incidentally it has the same owners as Mint.
If you're a brewery person you'll have to get off Elm, but we have some good ones. Candia Road Brewing, To Share, Pipe Dream, Long Blue Cat, 603, Great North. I don't personally like Stark Brewing's beer but I do enjoy going to the bar there (used to be called Milly's).
Others already covered the museums and it's probably not the right weather for hiking. This time of year is pretty short on stuff to do outside of eat and drink! If you're looking for something specific, ask away and I can probably help. Been here my whole life and my wife and I get out a lot.

If you're already downtown (Elm St.), El Rincon is right there and has phenomenal Mexican food (Consuelos is good too!)

Ya keyword great, I said good. Something quick and it’s in between my PT and home without having to drive 10/15 mins out of my way that late. I live on the hooksett line but like I said it’s something quick and good just to hit that spot.

Did you check your speed hard wired or wifi? WiFi will slow it a bit.

It was in the news not too long ago, and Manchester doesn’t have that many good ice cream places anymore…I’ve only ever witness people getting ice cream when I’ve gone. That’s only reason I go lol when I’m craving ice cream.

I have absolutely no clue. I used to go there fairly often prior to covid and it was never any busier than your average Manchester fast food place, but then for some reason during and after the lockdowns it became the single hottest place to eat in the state

100% agree, the tree street rule is overplayed. “Stay away from the 2000s block of Elm st” would be telling people to not venture to the nicest part of town
