The SSD might not even be bad. The update could have just fucking something up on the OS. If that's that's the case I may be able to just do a system restore, but I have stuff on their I don't want to lose, including some work I hadn't committed to GitHub yet. So I need to pull the drive and hook it up to another computer to see if anything is salvageable.

My first custom board was alpacas, I have since lubed them and moved them to a 40% board which freed up enough alpacas to build a second small form factor board with alpacas. I am putting oil kings in a larger board soon, and can't wait to try them out but I really love the light actuation of the alpacas. Might have to spring swap the oil kings, we'll see how she goes

Not sure if you need to relax but I'm good.

You surely need to pay more attention when reading because I haven't mentioned VIA at all before you were "asking for clarification".

This is irrelevant for few reasons:

  1. It's not about Keychron we are talking about in this topic,
  2. The post you are referring to specifically talks about source files. You do not need them to utilise VIA.

Also, I can see now that from the beginning you are questioning Keychron as a choice but I never recommended it. I only tried to answer OP questions regarding Keychron only comparing the options in the process.

Do yourself a big favor, save your money for now, and attend a keyboard meetup in your area.
Try out all the different switches you can find, decide which ones you really like, then save up to buy THOSE switches.
If those switches end up being cheap, that's great.
Even if they don't, you'll end up much happier in the long run.

Switches are the one area you don't want to skimp on.
They are what links you to the keyboard, and they provide the majority of your "experience", while using the board.
I will take good switches, with a cheap case and keycaps, over a good quality board with cheap switches, every time.

They make that big a difference.

It’s a excellent hat, got it just for the wedding and now it sits in its box until we renew our vows.

I have a separate hat for heathenism that I use on the weekends, that one is simply too nice.

Plus fedoras are just.. not flattering on nearly anybody, I think I’ve only seen one person a fedora looked good on.
