Fantastic - I am a keyboard newbie and have never made a custom keyboard. If I buy the base kit I assume I need a board and switches..?

It's a Firefox issue. And a good one. Firefox doesn't support WebHID. And I hope they never do. I don't think I want a web browser to have direct access to my keyboard firmware. Sounds like a good way to get a keylogger installed in your hardware without even knowing it.

Probably a dumb question, but I notice there is a red 'Oh bother' key included in the base kit. What is the difference between that and the $35 artisan keycap?
