Custom marble on Etsy from OnDesk. You can send them the specs and they'll custom cut for you. A little pricy but it's hefty and worth it imo.

How good is the Tester68? I thought about getting it as well for a beginner build for my gf

The keycaps just look like they'd be so satisfying to press on. I don't know if it's the lighting or the shape or what, but damn

Do you need one? It's generally better to keep your hands floating. They do look pretty though

Etsy. You can find white resin/quartz ones in different or custom sizes that matches your keyboard's colour if you want one.

Absolutely! The Keycaps were the most expensive part of this build but it took less than 30 mins for everything. We’re going to revisit it after he’s used to it and determine if we need to add foam, tape mod, lube switches, etc — the stock stabilizers are surprisingly great for such a basic, budget board.

You’re an awesome parent. 10 year old me would be ecstatic over being able to build this. Thank you for the resources to make my own 😁

It’s a really easy build (he’s 10 so we wanted to start with the basics) - Tester68, HolyPandas, & Retro Keycaps

I got my wooden one from an etsy page for like 20 bucks. There are lots of options :)

Anyone not in the hobby would think that you're obviously overexaggerating...

It's a mixture of Massdrop (now just Drop) MITO SA Godspeed:
Apollo Alphas
Apollo Numpad
Classic Mods
Novelties
Lunar Milky Way
Unfortunately only the "Classic Mods" is still available new from Drop. The rest you have to setup an automatic watch of r/mechmarket for them and grab as soon as it triggers!

Reply to After months of waiting, i finally spotted a mechanical keyboard at my local thrift store. Razer Huntsman Elite for $15. Seems to work perfectly(lights are good, types great). This is my first nice keyboard. by deadbolt500
Good start for 15$ Cleaning effort and time are probably worth more, but it's a hobby.

Absolutely! I've been eyeing their MT3 Camillo set for my white keyboard. It would look so good, but they're definitely some spensive keycaps.
