Lithium-ion batteries are known for this issue in general. It's completely typical for the majority of these batteries that over time they lose capacity and swell up. It's more of a question of when it happens rather than if it happens. If you opened up all your old phones, at least half of them would have a swollen battery

As far as I can tell, G715 uses its own clones of cherry MX switches. As long as you remember which switch you tried (blue, red or brown) on that G715, you can get similar feel with a huge number of different keyboards.

Do you have other preferences, like the size/layout, backlight, etc?

Yeah, I tore the board apart and got down to the pcb and switches being mounted together. I literally picked it up. And pressed each switch into the pcb to seat it. It’s perfect now you do need to confirm each switch is fully inserted into the pcb, good luck!

Really love the calligraphy style on this one!

What's the board btw? The layout seems really nice.

I've been using ergodox -> dactyls -> redox -> redox manuform and decided that this layout is the sweet spot for me. I'm not familiar with openSCAD so I used solidworks and it's completely manually modeled. As for less columns or rows they don't really work for me since I'm from East Asia and need to switch between languages inputs so 70 keys is the minimum for me. For example num rows are required to type Traditional Chinese and it'll be hell for me if I have to switch between layers for numbers.
