So many kbs! My first mech was their original Kickstarter, they’ve come so far!

I know, and with a knob! It’s via compatible too, I generally like these caps but I also feel like vileblooms would look sick. And true true, I’m definitely happy with it. If I did try to reverse coil it, are you supposed to reheat it??

Damn I like this, keychron makes too many kbs I can't keep track...

Had no clue keychron made a 40%. Looks pretty cool!
And the cable doesn’t have to look perfect. As long as you are happy with it

Thanks! Ah yeah I keep reading about reverse coiling, but I’m afraid to fuck it up
First 40 yeah, I haven’t gotten to use it yet though I’m out on leave

Turned out quite nice! You can try reverse coiling it too.
Is this your first 40%?

Uniform height cherry profile caps, hmmm not sure if that would feel good to type on or not...

That’s awesome. I’d love to type on one. I bet you are right with the switches.

Maybe a pen or such to be able to type with space suit gloves or just to stick it to surfaces or arms for holding it in place. The ISS is basically a hughe velcro pad.
Edit: Found a picture of one in space before velcro. Source is this reddit post.
Edit2: Here is one in space with velcro pads being used to hold it in place.

I thought it looked like a Grid.
Sure enough: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grid_Compass?wprov=sfla1
Got to use one, and type on it, once. The display was beautiful for its time.
Strange that info on the key switches used could be lost to time. But the best I could find was only that other similar looking Grid hardware used Micro Switch ST key switches:

UV printing, does that mean it will wear out quickly?

There was an IC on geekhack for a keycap set inspired by the ones there (or at least a close variation) but seems it's not moving forward; shame.

I honestly don’t have the answer for you on the coiled cable. I don’t trust myself enough for all of that haha.
I have to say, Vilebloom is a timeless set. Im just not a big fan of the taller profiles unfortunately. It would most definitely look good on your board though :)
