It appears the Preonic is never in stock and only availability via preorder. I would be doing basic mods like switch pads, case foam, stabilizer mod and an accent artisan keycap.

The idea is build a nice board and bring it around to show people to get them addicted then sell them the stuff I I’m not using be it parts or a whole keyboard. Me waiting for drop to process that and I’m just not confident with their customer service to take care of my return properly because of the cost and the additional risk of damaging the product in return (if I send it back they way I received it.)

If you like wireless and are ok with it not being a southpaw you might like the Ajazz AK966. It’s not as premium but still an excellent board. It has Bluetooth, 2.4ghz wireless dongle and wired. It’s what I was using before I got this one

I broke down and put it together. You can’t see the damage unless you angle it. I just wasn’t prepared for it to be so poorly packaged as my other recent orders weren’t packaged this way. Most of the keycaps are scuffed. They threw it in a bag and into the box. It was wedged inside the case.

My point is I want to keep buying more high quality kits and this means I won’t be doing that with drop if they pack it like this.

Any suggestions for other retailers that have decent support and know how to ship their own products? And

I’ve tried mechanical keyboards.com but am finished with them and their horrific web shop.

Amazon is ‘ok’ mostly but often the stuff they sell is also from drop and mechanical keyboards.com and I get dinged for high shipping costs (7-25$ and up)

Shoutouts to the guy that shared the plate file in Wooting's Discord server.

Not yet unfortunately. At least not for this particular board. I heard they plan on going through their entire lineup and adding Bluetooth versions but since the non Bluetooth version of this board just came out it’ll probably be a while before it does. This is the Q12. When the Q12 Pro comes out that’ll be the Bluetooth one

Since you seem quite familiar with vim do you by any chance know if it’s possible/how to set up a macro that would allow me to push a key which would then simulate pressing a key (let’s say the letter ‘a’) every 5 seconds until I push the key again.

So for the sake of the example let’s say I press F12 key.

This causes a macro to run where the keyboard outputs the letter ‘a’. Then waits 5 seconds. Presses ‘a’. And continues to this until I press F12 again.

I have vim key bindings for each app that offers it (e.g. vimium add on for browser) and on some Linux machines use a windows manager that lets me organise them w/o using the mouse, and so on. Every time I touch that damn thing I feel like I lost.

usually when reselling in-stock boards, you won’t get back what you paid, so you’ll have two things going against you already, and then if you decide to build it then that’s 3 potential things that would make it harder to resale.

if you can, try to get a refund or if you still want that particular keyboard then see if they can exchange it if possible.
