It won't be a perfect match in any case, so I'd argue that the case being considerably darker is a good thing because there's a bit of distance between the colors and because it looks similar to a shadow. A case that's brighter than the keycaps would look a bit jarring with similar tones.

this is probably not recommended for premium expensive keycaps but i wash mine in a dishwasher on lower temp eco-mode together with all the dishes in a closed plastic cage thingy. works like a charm

Based on what I've seen, I think Crimson Cadet might be a bit too bright for a 1:1 match

The normies just don't understand, but we do... Lol. Amazing build.

Does this count as natural switch lubrication? Artisanal organic custom keycap mod? Work with me here, the guy's obviously trying!
OTOH, an easily disassembled keeb is easily cleaned, I smell a learning opportunity here.

Really dumb question for a lurker who may be starting their first build soon, what is the cost of a "budget build" keyb?

This seems like something that could be avoided with the set-and-forget nature of QMK

If you want to help it try teaching him what it could do to the keyboard and make sure he understands as well, and try to go easy on the little buddy he didn’t know

Agreed you should clean them 4 times a week

I mean if you really want white keys to stay white you have to have a no food at the pc rule or clean them 4 times a week.

Ohhh very interesting color for first keyboard! Burgundy is a though one to match, but I was surprised when I pair my Maroon Lulu (Burgundy top with yellow bottom) with IFK Morse. Those caps are pretty standard, and will server you well along the way, when you get a board but you are still waiting on keycaps, so appreciate them for what they are.
In regard to switches, yeah, my wife loves Cherry Pinks, so I lubed and filmed them for her, but I feel them mushy and non-satisfactory to type on them. To each their own though!

I am currently using it only for the up arrow. I found that I don't tend to ever use the right shift.

I thought I would like quieter switches, turns out I do not lol and the keycaps are not what I was expecting, not sure why.
I’ve realized I can research caps, switches, boards till I’m blue in the face, but until I try more stuff to build out a preference I don’t really know what I like
CorrodedRose t1_j9qgfm6 wrote
Do you have the right shift as up arrow only or tapdance

Thanks for the details.
I am new to the layer game and you seem to have figured it out. How do you cope with the delay when typing a word and then a number? Even with adjusting tapping term I seem to tap space and letter instead of an number.
Any tips? Thanks
