check over on r/ErgoMechKeyboards – Kailh Silent Pinks (35g) are a very popular starter switch on that side of the keyboard community

Actually I'm not that surprised - a lot of good silent switches aren't focused on complete silence so much as maintaining decent feel while being very quiet. If you give up 5% noise to get 20% better feel, most people will make that tradeoff.

Would love to try the Outemu Peach and Lime switches. I use both U4 and Midnight Pro (the very lightly tactile one) and I enjoy them both despite the latter being more noisy, it makes a very soothing marbly sound on in my kbd67 lite (PC plate, foams).
U4 was the quietest switch I had tried until Mode Anthracite. They initially felt too heavy, but they're growing on me. I'm so pleased that mode even bothered making a silent switch and they bring something new. Less tactile than U4 but still noticeable.
To make a quiet keyboard you have to start with the switches, they are the source of vibrations to begin with. But the plate material and case have a lot to say what happens to the sound that is left. A metal plate in an open case is certainly going to accentuate any spring ping, leaf making contacts and plastic scratching.

I'd assume so. U4Ts are very not silent.

The U4T isn't a silent switch. Do you mean the U4?

I agree the polling rate is pretty inconsequential, but being able to fine tune the actuation points and the rapid trigger does make the keyboard feel a lot more responsive.

They don't make the 60 HE in white, but they did come out with white keycaps. In order to have a white case you'd have to swap to a third party case like a tofu or blade, Wooting has a compatability list. Swapping the case isn't too difficult at all and it's so much better than the flimsy plastic case it comes in. But it is an extra expense.

Not sure about the resale value they could have since they are not common, but I don't see them selling for much. The only basic Kailh switch that people really buy is the Kailh black and that is mainly for parts since the stem can be used to make popular frankenswitches. Selling them for the 15+shipping you paid, is probably your best bet since for around 20 dollars there are better tactiles like the Gateron G pro browns, so it is hard for others to justify buying an older worse switch for more.

This is a blade 60 case the wooting 60 pcb is the same form factor as the dz60 pcb allowing it to fit in tofu and other tofu like cases

last year was them dumping their entire inventory because they switched to a new system, this is cheapo switches ordered for resale as mysteries. Pretty big difference.

Thank you, I appreciate it! Do they have any resale value? I probably won't ever use them.

I've had a custom plate made for the Frog mini that has plate mount stab cutouts. I'm currently working on a build video, but it's been delayed because I've got some stuff that came up.

I might be wrong but the black housing variants of the standard blue/red/brown switches by Kailh are the ones that try their best to replicate the sound and feel of cherry switches. I would say they probably sound better than the clear housing versions that are now commonplace, but nothing special. A light tactile that would probably greatly benefit from being lubed, a switch that is a tier above the cheaper browns on prebuilts.

Wow haven't seen the full black housing kailh switches in a long time. Novelkeys must have bought some really old stock if they are shipping those versions for years now you mainly just find the clear top/white bottom version.

Not 100% sure but I think these are just normal Kailh box reds. Anyone know how I can tell for sure?
