I really enjoy the MT3 profile personally, but my wife cannot stand MT3. I really don't know if there is a way to know if you will like MT3 without trying them. Even amongst MT3 sets, I find that I strongly prefer the PBT sets. The PBT sets have a coarser texture that I really enjoy. Once an ABS MT3 set shines, the feel changes dramatically.

If you like them and you're happy with them, they're good. Gateron linear switches tend to be very well liked. Are they Gateron ink blacks or oil kings by any chance?

Donut dipping the spring will eliminate the bit of spring ping the switches tend to have, and lubing the rails, back and pole of the stem will rid the switch of this sort of natural "resistance" nylon has, kind of like wet finger across glass.

I opted to just focus on the stem and spring, without touching the housings, and it worked out pretty well to bring out the roundness of the early bump.

Of course, the nylon helps give the tactile switch a sharper drop past the bump, which you may or may not prefer. I'd say if you're curious-- try a couple!

Managed to snag this silver Tokyo60 off eBay for a very good price. Nothing special build wise, but for an integrated plate I am very pleased with the sound.

  • Keyboard Build
    • Board: Tokyo60 (v4, silver)
    • Keycaps: biip MT3 Extended 2048
    • Switches: JWICK Yellows

My only complaint with the Tokyo60 is that it doesn't match the typing angle I am accustomed to on my HHKB Pro2. I'm experimenting with a few solutions, but I would love if it came with the larger 7 degree typing angle of the Pro2. This particular case had interference issues with a few of the corner keycaps, but that was easily resolved. All in all, for around $60 for the case and PCB, I could't be happier.

There are files in the pcb/plots folder. They called Gerber files. You can compress those files and send to a PCB manufacturer.

If you want to custom, then just edit the KiCad project, then generate new Gerber files.
