If I had to use a click jacket switch I would probably just go with broken-in MX blues because they sound the least unpleasant and the weighting is nice enough. With Gateron you can actually feel the click jacket sliding around inside of the housing and they feel super...chalky? That's the best way I can describe them.

As of right now one of my current boards has Gateron pro yellows installed and those are really fantastic out of the box if you don't feel like spending 6 hours lubing. Not the most consistent factory lube but gets the job done if you're lazy like me.

I bought mine a while back off Amazon and they also came with an 80g spacebar switch! Nice little addition. The diffuser helps tremendously on south facing boards where the LEDs can be potentially a little blinding. I was little shocked how bright the LEDS were on my Keychron Q7, which is what lead to getting these.

The factory lube was great out of the box (jar), but have now been developing a little noise on a few. Will likely have to lube them after all. But still, very pleased with them.

I just replaced the browns in my keyboard with Alfion Runners, and although not “Thockless” it’s a less disruptive sounds. But still brown have nothing on blues or greens; the person that runs clickey switches in an office setting is truly chaotic Evil…

You're not touch-typing on your phone though, nor are you transcribing things, so I'm not sure how big an impact the arrangement of the characters actually has.

By contrast, I type professionally, so I spend a lot of my time looking at the source material I'm entering, rather than watching what's coming up on the screen.
Having characters migrating around, on different keyboards, would play hell with that.

That's fair enough. I dunno, I'm not a huge typer but I've found there are enough places where I am "stuck" using QWERTY day-to-day that I never really lose it even though I'm typing on Miryoku Colemak-DH while at my home desk. For example, my phoe keyboard is QWERTY and I (for better or for worse) don't see that changing anytime soon.
