The desk pad is from red bubble. I hope the quality isn't too bad.

The other stuff I got off Etsy from various sellers. Kier pin, Lumon logo stickers, MDR wall sign, MDR keycard with lanyard, food tokens, serverance chip.. haha ok I'm just kidding about the chip, maybe.

That might have helped. My attempt was to pretty much just move the outside columns to the middle. Esc, Tab, and backspace were a rather onerous reach, while coding. I did like having shift in the middle where both hands could reach it though. May try it again sometime with more thumb / bottom-row emphasis

Yes! I’m obsessed with Severance. The title of my post was a huge tip to the show. The song Daydream in Blue is played during credits at the end of episode 2. I’m equally obsessed with the song. Currently on my third watch through of Season 1. I have a Lumon desk pad and other accessories arriving soon. :) :) :)

As I didn't find this keycap theme on Keychron's site (using their customizer - thinking of buying pre-built as it would be my first mechanical keyboard), assuming that I could also get keycaps in a custom theme for a potential Q11? How many options are there for keycaps on the Q11? Assuming any colour would be available? The wheels are turning! :)

What about palm support?

Currently on a Kinesis Freestyle 2 with the palm supports that clip in and follow each half. Along with the Q11, I,m considering the Freestyle Pro with MX Browns as the palm support function in the same way.

I wasn't able to find anything similar for the Q11. I wonder if getting palm supports for the Q11 would just be too many things moving around on the desk?

I was sceptical of home row mods before. I tried them before but I could not wrap my head around how I ever would be able to use them without accidental triggers. Turned out I had my QMK settings wrong. Once I fixed that it clicked. I'm not entirely sure if this is a layout I will stick with in the long run - but home row shift is a game changer I will definitely continue using.

I'm a software guy who doesn't do numeric data entry so for my use case I need arrow keys, function keys, page up/down and home/end. I also love my Delete key. A 75% fits what I do best though I could get by with a 65% and Fn the function keys. Some 75% keyboards don't have a PCB design that will yield all 5 of the Del, Pg Up/Dn, Home/End keys and a 65% will have room for at most 4 of those. I must have a discrete Del key and Pg Up/Down at a minimum. From there I can Fn the Home/End onto one or both of the Pg keys.

I just built the KDBCraft LEGO keyboard that is a 60% with arrow keys. I find this layout too inflexible for me for work as I have to Fn to get both Pg Up/Down and Home/End but I do have a Del key above the right arrow. And a very small 1u right shift to afford those arrow keys. For me, a 60% is just too limiting but I'm typing this comment on it so it's not like I can't ever use one.

What's great about the keyboard world is there is a layout for everyone. Pick your most common use case and what you can compromise for flexibility, accessibility, desk space and aesthetics and go from there. You might find you want more than one keyboard to switch between for different use cases. Maybe add a number pad if you do numeric data entry just once in a while. Good luck!

Oh, wanted to add that I can't live without QMK/VIA support for customization. I realize there are less expensive keyboards that allow customization with custom software but I prefer to use the open source approach and not run software I know nothing about. If you think you need to customize your keyboard(s) consider if customization is possible and what method is used. IMO the smaller the layout the more you'll want to customize.
