Yes for and like many, I ended up doing a lot of my own design in order to get there like I am sure many here have as well.

Feel, look sound for me had to be Aluminum case, TKL, RGB (North facing because it’s the only way RGB can look good), Mac compatible, linear, backlit legends which would be readable both with and without backlighting, thocky, No wear (keycap shining/discoloring)… which meant all metal backlit keycaps... and fitting a PCB from one keyboard into a case it was not supposed to go into.

But I am done now… $1K later… mostly spent on keycaps.

Completely agreed. Found it recently for about $100, brand new, from an online thrifter with tons of other stuff. Box had never been opened and I thought why not. It really reminded me of a modern version of a classic keeb I grew up with, just a ton more solid. Modding it brought me back to having to repair terminal keyboards in the mid/late 90s.

Haven’t seen that thing in a while - this is what really got me into higher end keyboards even though I’ve never owned one of these. Still looks amazing almost 3 years later

I was lucky enough to come in during the era of a bunch of new keycap materials and ended up getting a qk65 with ceramic keycaps, they have a distinctive thock to them and a bit of a ceramic ping on the spacebar and for some reason that is my preference. I consider it my endgame currently just because of the wonderful bounce and sound of the board plus the look is amazing for me.

Did your keyboard come with the OLED screen? Isn't there supposed to be one in that slot in the top right?

It has, thank you. This is some pretty dark humor, but I was joking with some friends that when I coded before the transplant, I came back because I needed my damn keycaps.

I had to dive a bit deeper into the rabbit hole than you, but yes.

In the end, I realized nothing someone else designed would ever be MY endgame board.
That led me to design my own layouts, which I then put into existing cases.

Keyboard: Abkoncore AR87 with solderable PCB, aluminum plate
Switches: Cherry MX Blacks, lubed and filmed with Durock films
Mods: Small film of sorbothane in the bottom of the case, clipped and modded stabilizers (plate mount), force break between top and bottom case with thin washi tape.

Unfortunately not, everyone is stuck in the same boat. His last discord update said he had everything boxed up, and just waiting to ship to everyone, so hopefully everyone will be getting theirs soon. Best you could do is try to email or discord message him, but outside of that not much 😞

Hey barrett, I bought a KL-90 Shadow from the first run and am still waiting on the PCB from kiko, any recommendations on how I can expedite the process

I have definitely reached endgame for sound and feel, but I personally have no endgame for aesthetic design

I’m still waiting on my PCB from the first Wood KL-90 PCB (got the shadow)… at this point Kiko’s update saying they are starting to ship now… I’m almost tempted to just get another pcb
