So I noticed tonight that the number key and qwerty key rows were not showing the normal breathing teal color I have it set to at all times. The qwerty row looked like a dim white, and the num row looks like a greener teal. So I started trying everything I could to fix it, I did a reset of the firmware with the FN-ESC-F1-F3-F5 hotkey, redownloaded glorious core (I know) and then tried to just move the RGB around with hotkeys instead of the actual software. It seems like the keys only will allow the LEDs to produce teal-purple when they're set to specific RGB presets. Things like surmont will not display either of those colors, but things like the rainbow tracers will. Then I noticed something else, when I set it to the "per key" RGB setting where it only traces what you type, the num keys will sometimes light up the LEDS on the keys below them. I have no idea what could have possibly caused this. I just upgraded my PC to a 3080/new mobo/new OS and NVME and I don't know if that could have had some sort of adverse effect on it but I'm really hoping I can fix this because I just upgraded everything on this keyboard. New switches, lube, stabs, holy mod, stab foams, keycaps, the works. I'd really like to not have to undo all of that to send it in but I can't ask for help so if anyone has any interesting suggestions I'll hear them. Thanks for reading everyone

One thing I noticed is you can order the FlexKit + your choice of top frame, plate, knob, and cable for the price of a normal GMMK Pro barebones instead of making all the options addons. Hopefully they carry that over to the normal order process. That would be a massive improvement.

The current method was a huge price gouge if you wanted a different options since you had to get the black or silver frame, knob, and aluminum plate even if you never wanted them.

Not worth it IMO. It's cool that Glorious offers something to help flex and hopefully the "v2" of the GMMK Pro will put into practice what Glorious has (hopefully) learned, but I feel like it's too late to save the reputation of the board.

Let us know how much of a difference the flex kit provides!

I've only been into keebs for a few years now so I have just a few sets of keycaps and boards, but so far, I'd say every 6 months or so (or once or twice a year) is my pattern of changing things up. I'll be building a new board toward the end of the year so that'll give me something else to build, and I already have my eye on two new keycap sets, so I think when I have more options, I might change out my main board every 3-4 months or once per season. That's mostly for keycaps, but usually if I'm changing out the keyboard, I'm also doing other changes to my whole desk setup, so I just like to make things match.

I don't know that I'd change switches that much though since I like to leave the switches as they are unless I find something better.

It might depend on how long someone’s been using mechanical keyboards? I’ve used a mechanical keyboard for years but I’ve been in this rabbit hole the last few months due to all the variety in switches and keycaps. In this rabbit hole phase I’m just slowing down to 2 times a week. My quieter keyboard is a Q5 and my louder keyboard is the K6 Pro.

I mix switches to minimize finger fatigue and I’m liking my current combo, but I have some new 10-pack switches and my first GMK keycap sets coming this week. I’m probably going to try them out on my K6 Pro and see which mix I like, and work on having the nerve to open up my first mechanical keyboard and replace the aluminum plate with FR4.

The link you pasted is almost exactly what I have been looking for. Don't want ISO but this is VERY close.

Good point about the Home and End keys. I use Excel a LOT and wouldn't want to do without them,

Still would like the cursor keys sitting like they are in your link.

I have an Epomaker Southpaw. Only used it for an hour and realized it wasn't for me. It is sitting somewhere in Mech Market.....
