To isolate your issue, pull out the keycap and press directly on the switch. If the switch does work as intended, then it may be an issue from 2 causes:

  1. Improper installment of stabs/factory flaws (not soldered evenly, or maybe slightly bent to begin with).
  2. Bent keycap, which could then pull on the two sides of the stab unevenly.

I'm 100% sure I did it correctly wrapping it over the start. This is well documented in the thockpop discord which made this popular.

I tried using OWLstabs and it was peeling within a month after lubing. Switched to plugging with a syringe on Tx stabs and haven't looked back since.

if you wrap it correctly (the start of the tape is covered by wrapping over it and you end in the middle, where there's no lube and doesn't grind against the stem since it stays still) there's no way it peels. Been good for the past 7 months which is light years ahead of whatever you can achieve with lube or any other mod. You could actually barely lube the stab and it would still sound fine.

I would second that, especially since my own preferences are so at odds with themselves.

I love silent builds...but I also love Kailh Box Whites.
I type better on Box Whites than any other switch I've tried, so I worry much less about the sound profile, than I do about how well the switches work for me.

When isn't there a long wait time for keyboard things. Heck GMK is out a year and a half (ordered Handerbeige in Sept 2022 and est. shipping is q1 of 2024). But in the end I got the product I paid for so I won't complain much. It seems that Plastik (runner of HMKB) has gotten better about being transparent with his operations as well over the past year. I was in the Lyra GB and everyone there was scammed after over a year of patiently waiting, I've paid my dues lol
