Never ran a typing test but I'd moved from a Preonic to this. Preonic was my first kb build so that took me a minute to get used to ortho and then from that to this it took me a minute to get used to the movement of mods back to the side instead of in the center (put mods in center of Preonic for fun) but yeah, I'm back to normal typing speeds. This has been my daily since just after quarantine was lifted I think. I love it. Only reason I'm done with it is I'm in the middle of a hubris-minibaen restoration build. Cleaned up the pcb and fixed some broken traces. Just waiting for red C3 Equalz stabs to match my borsas and I'll be ready to finish.

Candykeys is from Germany and sells single switches. Thats how i got my first few switches.

Keygem is from Germany too, but the min quantity per switch is 10. Keygem also sells „custom switch testers“, here you can choose multiple single switches (at a higher per piece price tho)

My mk journey so far:

  • 2014: Ducky Shine 3 backlit, Cherry Mx Brown, black Vortex Backlit Doubleshot PBT
  • 2019: Vortex Cypher, Cherry MX Red silent, same keycaps as the picture
  • 2022: Keychron K6 Pro, GAzzew Bobagums, same keycaps obv

I use this at home as well as in the office, hence the silent switches. I would have preferred the Boba silents or similar, but switches aren't that easy to come by in Europe. Lots of resellers, but the best switches are always out of stock.

i watched a typing sound test on one of the videos on youtube and was surprised to see it was a korean video, watching them on their version of monkey type was fascinating. all of these words just magically form and the typing speed seemed fast enough altho not sure how they judge. but from the sounds it definitely sounded roughly equivilent to typing 90-100wpm in english, and watching sentences form in korean. was wild.
