My take would be that Akko has a reputation to lose, so it shouldnt be bullcrap.

Moreso the 90$ pricetag isnt too far off considering thry add 25$ shipping for me and Akko offers a full set of switches which makes both shops priced evenly if you need switches.

That's also fair, there's definitely more practical design concepts for ergo boards however personal preference and appearance are MASSIVE things in most hobbies, I personally think staggered splits look gorgeous and boards similar to the moonlander are quite ugly in appearance relatively but ultimately can appreciate any design of a custom-made keyboard. Angling isn't an issue for me but that can probably factor down to a many multitude of reasons due to height/desk height/distance

That’s a fair answer. I was just thinking if you’re going split for ergo reasons you should improve finger positioning as well so they go straight up and down from home row without any horizontal stagger. Basically if you keep your hands shoulder length apart, you’re forced to angle the keyboard otherwise. I’m also not advocating for smaller keyboards, just ortholinear ones like the moonlander.

Hi, I personally have a staggered split as my first custom keyboard that my bf got me and the appeal at the time was more desk/mouse space, being able to configure a profile for gaming that essentially just lets you use all of the inputs you need on a 30-40% however also being able to just have a regular 60-80% keyboard that you can put back together at anytime for anything other than just gaming.

There's alot more practical concepts for this but I feel as if this retains the fundamental design of a keyboard and its simplicity.

I don't have too weird of an angle when using it whilst gaming however-so I still own a wrist rest for such... which helps tremendously when sitting at an unsuitable height for when I'm not at home.

if it's any consolation; I prefer it to my actual 40% or a full-size as of any matter. idk if this is the answer you was looking for lol but this is just my experience with a split staggered.

You can shop Drop's Black Friday sales here, with notable deals listed below:

One of today's 24hr sales is GMK Pulse for only $49, and while the full list for each day won't be revealed until the day in question, here's a teaser of what will come:

Oh this is interesting, I found Monsgeek M1 barebone kit in stock on mechkeys. It's 86 dollars which seems like a steal for a south-facing CNC aluminum and VIA compatible kit. It comes in white, black, and pink colourways, plus there's a built version but it doesn't have Akko switches or caps. That said, I haven't been able to find any reviews except minute-long typing vids from very small channels on YT... not sure if it's worth the risk personally.

Edit: Just in case anyone sees this and gets the wrong idea, it looks the domestic version isn't VIA compatible! The mechkeys listing is also not great (picture missing labels, doesn't tell you what comes in the box, etc.) so I would wait for Akko to release it on their their own shop.
