Excluding some ridiculous large acts like the Rockin' 1000, there are some bands that on first glance seem arbitrarily large, but can be justified.
- I saw !!! (Chk Chk Chk) live a couple of weeks ago. They once had 8 members, although that has since shrunk and there were only five onstage.
- Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros had 10 members, excluding any additional touring musicians. I find it kind of ironic that a band with 'zero' in its name is so huge. It's mad that a band with so many members used to perform without a setlist, and the show wouldn't just fall apart as they decided what to play next.
- I will be seeing ska-rock band Imperial Leisure soon, who have 10 members. At an anniversary show, they brought on members who had left in years past, and performed their encore as a 17-piece band.
Who else is there?
