Also, wait for sales you can get a good guitar for a good price. I think you should get an acoustic it is a bit harder to learn because the strings are thicker than electric guitars, and it mot blister your fingers, but after a month or 2 you will be find and plus you have to buy a amplifier for electric guitar. Just keep a look out at your guitar stores.

Ya just keep that in mind because I had no idea of the parts of a guitar and just watched YouTube videos, and if you don't know one thing that they say, you will have trouble learning guitar so do research of things you don't know and ask questions if you don't know something good luck I hope you have fun on your journey to becoming a guitarist.

A basics of theory is necessarily to understand what you are doing and it will save a lot of time in the future. You don’t have to go crazy on the theory tho. It is basically the universal language for music instruments and therefore it will aid you in every instrument you will ever try to learn.

I think you should go with guitar first it is pretty easy to learn the basics, and then it is just a matter of 6. You should learn to read tabs because it is simple and you can learn how to play songs.

Well, people are dumb, and most Americans are extremely resistant to the idea of learning about anything that happened more than a week earlier.

Edit - downvotes don't change reality. The rest of Western society is far less interested in reacting badly with no historic context for literally any and every thing that comes down the pipe. Try fixing that instead of complaining that a fellow American sees it as the problem it so obviously is.
