Sum 41 really came into their own with my favs being All to Blame & Hell Song. At the same time billy talent was also making really great tunes including The Ex, Try Honesty and River Below. Not exactly sure if they fall into the pop punk category but in early 2000s Canada they went hand in hand. American Idiot had some really great stuff Jesus of suburbia is a masterpiece

he's the same age as you. He's not jamming to nsync tho. lol. My ex gf (from high school and college) loved nsync. she went to concert way back when. I used to tease her about it all the time. I actually bought her a baseball cap that said nsync on it but the thing actually lit up. lol.
There's so many - Usher, black Street, Ginuwine, Tyrese, Brandy, Mya, Monica, Ray J, R Kelley.. Those are just the ones I can think of off the top of my head. Those are more of the singers. but then you have like - LL cool J, Little Kim, Cassidy, Big Pun, Fabulous.
Idk. I can go all day. lol. Hope some of those help. if not just ask and I'll throw some more out there. Guess you can always use like I heart radio or Spotify and it'll make a radio station for you.

Mannnnnnn buddy your comment resonates with me so much. Can't wait to be in my 40s years later listening to Jagged Edge and such 😂❤️ I'm honestly not a fan of current mainstream music, I was born in 98 so I have some crazy nostalgia for 90s and 2000s stuff even tho I was still a toddler back then 😂 I DEFINITELY prefer old stuff. And tell your stepson he gotta sit down and listen to stuff you grew up with, he'll get it eventually!! 😂 Jagged Edge, Frankie J, Omarion, NYSNC, Backstreet Boys, Nelly, B2K, all that stuff and more 😭

imagine how old people feel.. lol. it's the same with Rap. Rap, hip-hop,and r&b from the 90s thru the early 2000s were my jam. some of the new stuff is ok. You'll get some catchy songs here and there. But definitely not like it used to be. Idk wtf happened but it's definitely changed. The stuff my step son and some of my coworkers listen to is just absolutely terrible. I thought I was just getting old. It seems like most people prefer the music they grew up to. idk if it'd nostalgia or what. But it's good to hear young guys/girls like it too. My step son actually started coming around to it recently. It's funny bc he'll be listening to something and then is somehow suprised that I know the lyrics. Like I was always and old Fk. lol. I'll be 85 yrs old in a retirement home jamming to biggie.
What's the latest stuff you've been jamming to? gimme some examples

Grateful Dead. Jerry of course played lead most of the time but Bob often played the main riffs on songs Jerry sung like Wharf Rat or China Cat Sunflower. Bob played plenty of solos, too

I still like some songs from when I was younger because of nostalgia. And hell yeah man, if you like it, it doesn’t matter if other people don’t

my music taste definitely hasn’t fully evolved yet as i’m still a teenager so im curious as to what i’ll think of my current taste when i’m an adult. ig i like it because it’s upbeat while still having dark and personal themes.

Everyone can listen to what they want but I don’t like it personally. Punk became a thing because people wanted something different from the same old rock and roll songs and pop punk decided to go in the other direction and made it easier to listen to.
