I think descendents “cool to be you” album (2004) counts as pop punk IMO

I seriously thought this was a John Lee Hooker cover. Talking about nailing it...
It's been pretty recent I discovered the pre-80s ZZ Top, what a find.

La Grange is an amazing song, but it's just a John Lee Hooker blues song cranked up to 11!
A how how how...🎶

Good call on Rocket Queen. Thats one hard album to pick an end to. Axl probably walked out 10 times before they picked it.

La Dispute- I See Everything.
The lyrics follow the diary of a person who lost their child to cancer. It is extremely powerful and heartbreaking.

1999-2002 were the golden years of pop-punk with bands like Saves the Day, blink-182, Jimmy Eat World, New Found Glory, and The Starting Line (highly underrated pop-punk band).
After 2003 it became more sterile and manufactured with bands like Yellowcard, Fall Out Boy, Cartel, Boys Like Girls, Paramore, and the All-American Rejects.
Drive-Thru Records and Fueled by Ramen were the two big pop-punk labels at the time but most commercial pop-punk bands had major label deals by 2005. The genre died quickly by 2008.
Grab your skateboard and blast these Pop-Punk Tunes
Shoulder to the Wheel - Saves the Day (1999)
Up and Go - The Starting Line (2002)
Sweetness - Jimmy Eat World (2001)
Sincerely Me - New Found Glory (2000)
