I have always loved this song, from when I fits heard it on my little 8 transistor radio back when it came out. I would not have guessed 66, I would have put it a year later, which might be when I heard it, being from the back country we called the state of Maine and late for everything fashion). got some great lines ("everybody seems to Naaag me", "even my old man looks good", "I'll change that scene some day"). Very mid/late 60s with sitarish sound (almost stolen from a Rolling Stones riff), good changes, nice chorus, upbeat groove despite the negativity of the lyrics. What is to dislike?

There's my upvote.

Honest opinion, song is well structured, but has no hook. Nothing that grabs me. Also, there are some weird production choices. At several points, I thought I heard my vacuum cleaner turning itself on before I realized that sound came from your song.

How are you going to prove that you'll walk the distance?

It's just easier to make it. No royalty or licensing to have contracts with either. Of course the average person will still find music they want, but the commercial side of music will be hit, not to mention the novelty of it all. Anyone with only an idea will be trying to get ears on their new tracks.

Ultimately, not much will change in terms of abundance of music and its enjoyment... yet I'm sure there will be effects that we only recognize afterwards.

There will always be talented artists making good music, even if major labels aren't propping them up. We live in an age where solid recording equipment can be had for minimal investment and digital music can be mass distributed. It might require a little searching on your end, but it will always be there.

It almost always goes better the other way around. Every pop song ever outside a few exceptions sounds better as a rock/metal song.

He'll be back claiming he did it just to get more attention and introduce a new song

Can't fault him if it works (aside from the morality of lying to people, which is becoming societally accepted as long as the ends justify the lie)

The question isn't "Is it possible", the question is "What would his motivation be"

His motivation is to get us to listen to his song, the walking doesn't do anything for that goal other than as a carrot for listening to the song
