The Carpenters doing “Calling Occupants…” is something else.

Ganstagrass is Bluegrass hip-hop. It was funny that when Old Town Road was causing people to lose it on the Billboard Country charts, Ganstagrass was on top of the Bluegrass charts and everybody was "hells yeah."

Reply to TikTok music is a threat by ConfectionStill6109
Let's at least allow that this sort of thing has been said about pretty near every new trend in music. And while many of those trends do produce cringe, they also produce backlash. If there's anything to what you say and there probably is, then someone who feels as you do is also probably making some music to counter those trends. But also, as obnoxiously loud as TikTok is it's probably also still niche. Most people probably don't buy songs because they heard little snippets of them on TikTok, they still buy them because they heard them on the radio, and though I can sort of hear what you're saying with "About Damn Time", why be worried that Lizzo is going to frame her whole career around TikTok when she also has mainstream popularity?

That makes sense. What sort of mood do you listen to metal in? A bad one or a good one? (mood) curious, I like a lot of metal but other people I know who don't find it quite aggressive, which I don't.

Makes sense, I think that's sort of what I meant by catharsis. I'm the same with the genres. Although technical death metal is a new phrase, I think most metal I listen to at the moment is random bands I get linked to on Bandcamp, don't necessarily save names anywhere, not sure if any of them come under that bracket. Can you give an example?

It can be, I just sort of narrowed it down (after reading lots about it) to two sort of ways people listen to music (not that someone is one or the other more that we experience some element of both and wanted people's opinions). Someone further down also suggested for nostalgic reasons, too.

Do you just mean the amount of songs being posted ? Or just the length of the songs ? Like I hate to be the bearer of bad news but there are already thousands of artists and albums and songs lost in the “onslaught of sounds” over the last 100 years that had nothing to do with tiktok

Why can't it be both???
I listen to music because it affects how I feel AND I listen to music because it ~reflects~ how I feel -- and I use it as a comfort tool. Because without Music I would go crazy.

Not sure if the post was edited, but as it sits now, he has a year to complete the walk, not a month.

Check out the Merry-Go-Round. His band before going solo. Their “hit” (for lack of a better word) was “Live” which could be a lost Beatles cut.
