Modern metal is uninspired, generic and repetitive. Old metal is pretty boring, edgy for the sake of it, and sometimes pretty cringy. Wooah look at that dude, he listens trash, death, black metal, whoah, so dark, so badass!!! Said no one ever. Nobody is impressed with that stuff. Garbage music to make their listeners feel like something they are not.

Tell me you haven't listened to metal since 2008 without telling me.

Papa Roach released a song today, an album last year and in 2020 and has 9.8 million monthly listeners on Spotify alone. They're still relevant, if not as popular as they were a couple a decades ago.
