Here are a few to check out:

Kikagaku Moyo

Goat

Fela Kuti

Khruangbin

Ali Farka Toure and his son Vieux Farka Toure (who did a album with Khruangbin)

Mdou Moctar

William Onyabor

Also, discogs.com is pretty good for searching for world music.

YouTube. The reason that Spotify and Tidal don't have much world music (other than them being primarily western companies with primarily western audiences) is that licensing music across different borders is kind of complicated and costly.

Most sites with user uploaded media will have a wider range to select from, but other than YouTube I can't think of any user uploaded music sites since Grooveshark was shut down.

It's just my opinion, but YouTube also has a better recommendation algorithm than Spotify. It definitely gives me a better range of recommendations.

You can also buy it, whether you import or go second hand. I buy vinyl from Asia all the time.

I don’t normally listen to Lil Yatchy like that but this album was dope. A great mix of Psychedelic Rock, R&B, and Jazz. The Black Seminole was definitely a call back to Pink Floyd’s style and Drive Me Crazy had similar smooth soul vibes to Rock With You by Michael Jackson. Definitely a great 2023 release.

Steven Wilson - To the Bone (2017). An 80s prog pop influenced album.

It's more rock oriented compared to her album, but definitely worth checking out. Songs on To the Bone that sound the most similar to hers would be Pariah, Permanating, & Song of I, but the best songs on the album are Detonation & Refuge. Detonation is one of my all-time favorites. Such a fun song, especially the second half of it.

I have noticed many new songs are shorter in general (around the 3 min or just under mark).

But on your point on Lizzo's about damn time, the song/second verse was definitely not written for TikTok. I will have to look but Ryan Tedder (OneRepublic) gave an interview on that song that was very interesting. IIRC, About damn time was commercially a flop in its first few weeks and wasn't performing well, until someone made a tiktok dance for the second verse which went viral, in turn pushing the song. it was a really interesting video

Not the full interview but its most of it:
