Reply to Do you know any smaller lesser known bands with the same vibe as The Lumineers by robotpoet
Lowlights, morningsiders, sumbuck, caamp, the copper children.
Not sure what you mean by larger than life but those strike me as smaller folky bands.

I'll tell you what you don't want to do is get old and have all your friends start getting married and having kids.
A tough part is just getting people out of their houses. I'd suggest always jamming at the drummers house since moving the drums is always the biggest hurdle to getting the band together. But yeah, it's tough, and it doesn't get any easier as you get older.

Praying for Time - George Michael
It feels like it was written by someone observing the Earth from another realm, if that makes sense. The tone of his voice in that song is otherwordly too.

Sound of Silence. I can’t stand the Disturbed version.
Black Magic Woman - Original by Fleetwood Mac is my preferred version.

Yep, definitely one of the great joys in life. Most recently for me, it has been The Tragically Hip and New Order.

Incredible artist and a wonderful person. Long story short - I met him many years ago at a record store show and told him I was bummed I couldn’t get tix for his show in Orlando. He gave me his email and hooked me and my wife up to tix for Tampa the next night.

Talk Talk is also a great example. “It’s My Life” is the song everyone knows, but the trilogy of The Colour of Spring, Spirit of Eden and Laughing Stock are a brilliant transition from New Wave into Post-Rock before it was really a thing. Those albums are amazing, Mark Hollis was a genius, listen to them now.
