Belle & Sebastian have several songs where the female sings lead in that ethereal 90s way. Patty Griffin also has this vibe. As far as groups go, maybe Garbage, Hole, The Breeders, Veruca Salt, or The Cardigans? Also just adding a personal favorite: The Donnas (although they are definitely harder rocking). Bjork also has some great 90s stuff that’s sweet and melodic. Ok, sorry for the long list. I’m done!

Bad Astronaut - San Francisco Serenade
It’s a nice sounding but fairly simple sounding song, and then… probably my favorite bridge/final verse of all time.

Fuck yeah! Tool is my fav band if you couldn’t tell from my profile name. That album is amazing! So are the live tracks on opiate. I had seen them live before I heard that album but I’m sure it would of had the same effect.

“Les Boys” on Making Movies by Dire Straits
My favorite Dire Straits album.
One of their worst songs.

“East St. Louis Toodle-oo” on Pretzel Logic by Steely Dan. WTF is that doing on there? Also why is that song on one of their greatest hits albums? The ultimate troll.
“On the Run” on DSOTM by Pink Floyd. This song just seems out of place to me. Total filler that sounds like they found some interesting equipment in the studio and decided to just monkey around with it for shits and giggles.

Well I’ve never seen them live but the Alice In Chains unplugged album is amazing. Actually almost all of the unplugged albums are great. The Nirvana one is also super magical.

Starfuckers is totally out of place on The Fragile. I skip it every time. Probably one of the only NIN songs I actually despise.

Not even that bad of a song, but the only one that isn't a super perfect banger.

It’s the only song I’ll skip on The White Album. But damn, Maxwell’s Silver Hammer… I just can’t get through it.

This annoys me so much. So many albums just have like 5 too many songs on them. Could have been a super tight 10-11 songs, but no we need to get to 16+ songs plus maybe some skits and of course at least one hidden track at the end!

Aretha Franklin - Amazing Grace and Sam Cooke - Live At The Harlem Square Club, two of the most incredible love albums ever created.
I also had a few of the Pearl Jam Official Bootlegs on cd back in the day, those were great live albums.
