Even hotter take: all of the songs you mentioned are still in the poppier side of their catalogue, and they have entire albums that are better than any of those songs mentioned

Me too I think it's cuz she is an original. No one sounds like her. She's like no one else.

Emmie Lou Harris and Jim James lend their voices in Bright Eye’s “I’m Wide Awake, it’s Morning” album.
Most Conor Oberst projects have some others artists peppered in.

All rap sounds the same at this point.
"Cars...hoes...money...I kill you" pretty much sums up most rap music. Might have been original in the 90s, it's now tedium.

Listening Lana del Rey is like coming down from a mdma high at 7am and realising that the people you're with are ugly and the situation you're in is quite sleazy, actually.
But you don't care because you're feeling a bit self-destructive.
Or something like that.
That's why I like her anyway, maybe that's exactly what's turning you off.

Radiohead the band is revered sure but Creep isn’t their best by far and only stands out as their first big hit

Check out the Hackensaw Boys. One of the best modern groups playing that style.
