Are these times contagious
I've never been this bored before
Is this the prize I've waited for?
Now as the hours passing
There's nothing left here to insure
I long to find the messenger

From the most desperate and unknown place that he was at, he nailed it. Unreal the dedication.

Porcupine Tree. I think you'll love them being into Tool. Their older stuff is quite Floydish but they start bringing in metal elements around Lightbulb Sun and they get into Tool territory. Give In Absentia a listen.

Beat me to it. OP this is the band for you. Based on your music tastes I’ll suggest their album Omnium Gatherum. Don’t be daunted by their first track (an 18 min rock epic)

American Idiot blew my 10 year old mind in 2004. Bullet in a Bible blew my 11 year old mind in 2005 and introduced me to the idea of how good live music can be. I finally saw Green Day live in 2009 at 15. Best show of my life, even met them backstage afterwards. I’ve now seen them live ten times, Pinhead Gunpowder one time, and The Longshot two times.
