Reply to If a record has good songs and lyrics is it pretty much going to succeed? by GregJamesDahlen
"Success" needs to be defined.
Is it regarded a "success" if an album still has a hardcore group of fans 40 years later?
Example; The Greatest Story Ever Told by Balaam & the Angel. I've met very few people who have even heard of the album or band, yet they still have a strong following, and it's still my most played album.

I was shocked that I didn't find out who the sample was from until I was 40 just a few years ago.

This matches none of the description you provided, but if you don't already know the words, I can read your gibberish as his gibberish https://youtu.be/IGMabBGydC0

A good portion of the bands I know and love are ones I discovered through thetoptens.com.
I do recommend you to proceed with a good chunk of caution, though.

You should embrace satanism not fear it. Your anxiety is definitely coming from a place of thought oppression by your religious culture. Until you come to terms with the ridiculousness of the artifical reality made by religion you will still fear it.

I was losing my damn mind last night watching Young Guns and hearing that speech. I'd heard that song so many times and came running into the room when I heard "can't be any geek off the street". Couldn't believe it.

I don't know if it was ever a TikTok song, but was it Bamboléo by the Gipsy Kings?

MIKELDMV,
HOW I RESPONDED WAS NOT WRITTEN IN STONE. YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO SAY WHAT YOU WANT, JUST AS I DO. THEN AGAIN IT'S JUST AN OPINION.
YOU DO KNOW WHAT THEY SAY ABOUT OPINIONS DON'T YOU?
HAVE A NICE DAY.
