Agreed. My only knock would be that I’m not a fan of drum solos on albums.

Some of the early pre-Catch a Fire Bob Marley recordings have mistakes left and right, but they didn't do multitrack recording in those days and they could only afford one or two takes per song.
That would absolutely never fly today, everything must be perfect to the degree that it's kind of soulless.

I think my list is pretty solid, but I pulled it from another post I made with a different purpose. Also, it’s my list so it’s biased towards my preferences. For a more global resource, try the ranked list below. This is the best list of top albums I’ve seen, and it spans a lot of genres.

The entire album, and catalogue for that matter, is really fantastic.

For feeling in a instrument I would recommend kind of blue - miles davis. Also a great intro to jazz.
The other way to find stuff is to look at influences, if you’re a nirvana fan try pixies - doolittle , who nirvana copy a lot for their biggest hits, or Swans - young god ep if paper cuts is your favourite nirvana song.
The other suggestions for emotion through soundscape would be Devin Townsend - ocean machine, and Godspeed you! Black emperor - lift your skinny fists like antennas to heaven(only if you’re open to different music)

What about something by Barns Courtney? Like maybe Never Let You Down, You and I, or Supernatural?

Hot Snakes (85K)
Nick Lutsko (111K)
Bummers (18K)
Fee Lion (23K)
The Birthday Party (75K)
The Lawrence Arms (112K)
This was interesting to think about, b/c there are a lot of artists I thought would have fewer streams, and I thought Hot Snakes and The Birthday Party in particular would have way more.

That sounds like a pitch-shifted violin - I don't think it's specifically Middle Eastern.

Nirvana made a bundle doing this. Even if it didn’t contain any unreleased material, demos or live versions, fans/collectors would still buy it. Some of them were only released in other countries so may have had something to do with a promotion or tour. There was no iTunes so this was a way for bands to cash in. Not to mention all the money made by record stores selling bootlegs. The music business was far more lucrative in the 90’s.
