Remain in Light by Talking Heads

A brilliant album that shows off the incredible talents of some of my favorite musicians. I was already a huge fan of Brian Eno (801, Roxy Music, solo) and Adrian Belew (King Crimson), so adding Byrne's song writing and style was always going produce one of the great albums.

Don’t feel bad at all. Music is personal preference. Gen x gen z millennials boomers…Sooners, zoomers, beanie babies, teletubbies, tinkywinky lala and the big homie poe. Ravens….I could go on. But a persons preference will still be a preference they chose 😂 dnt box me up bro. I dnt ship for one flat rate. You will no t understand. And probably respond as such. No matter. That’s a fire line up

Steve Morse Band : Cut To The Chase

There was an awesome 80’s comedy called SKI PATROL.

Steve Morse was one of those Guitar Gods type players like Vai and Satriani. They hired him to do the score to the movie. The music behind the chase scenes is excellent driving guitar rock.

Some of that music made it onto his album “High Tension Wires” as the first track, “Cut to the Chase.” They go back and forth between two guitarists just shredding; trading off on the solos like “dueling banjos” style.

Ultimate shredding. And perfect for your needs because it was actually written for a ski movie.

Great advise tysm!!! I am listening to every song to make sure I like it to and especially paying attention to the lyrics because that’s my favourite part and I very much want them to relate.

I’m easily adaptable to new music, I love music so much in most forms so I’m not to worried about making it feel like a love letter. I’ve also definitely put a few in there that are very special to me and how I feel about them. I love the way you described <3 This does also make me more confident in my choices so thank you so much and thank you for the recommendations!! <33

I agree with the above comment that the best mixtapes are a way for you to express how you feel about the other person through songs you know well. You won't have the immediate emotional connection to these songs that makes the mixtape special to the person receiving them.

That being said, I love the 80s so I'll try to help out.

Your Love by the Outfield is a great song, but the vibe might not be right if they listen too closely to the lyrics.

Sturgill Simpson genre-hops with grace. A Sailor’s Guide to Earth and Sound and Fury are 2 albums that’ll surprise you if you think “all country artists just play cheesy country”
