I wouldn't say the Weight is overrated, I'd say it's over played. The Band has an amazing catalog but (in my region at least), that's the only song of theirs they play anymore (which is a shame).

Now CCR's Proud Mary or Willie and the Poor Boys? Never understood the appeal of those songs at all. CCR has at least 20 songs that are far superior.

Same thing with Creep. Just overplayed on the radio because it was their most accessible song.

Probably just a me thing but; I love music more than anything, but I'm at an age it seldom has a strong effect on my emotions (mood, yes. Emotions, no). This song gets me though. It really strikes a reflective chord on how music has been an such an important part of my life.

How could you tell that? I don't have any idea where you could get that from. 😝 Actually I love a lot of pop and hio hop songs. I just hate really bad ones. I love songs like michael jackson billy jean, rhianna under my umbrella, the weekend blinding lights, akon dangerous, black eyed peas let's get it started. Loads of great pop and hip hop songs. To me these are just very annoying or way too sappy. These are all bangers they just suck to me.

Slayer - Reign in Blood

Peak Thrash Metal. It's almost comical in how aggressive it sounds. Just don't listen while driving, speed limits lose all meaning.

Anaal Nathrakh - Vanitas

The musical equivalent of having your head in a blender. (substitute with any of their discography, that's just the one I know best)

Cattle Decapitation - The Anthropocene Extinction

...or Monolith of Inhumanity, or Death Atlas, or anything really. If you want to add anger towards humans to your list of emotions. All wrapped up in a blanket of Death Metal and Grind.

Author & Punisher - Beastland

Not as fast as the others, but more of an Industrial vibe. Great stuff.

Midnight - Satanic Royalty

Dirty Mix of Speed Metal and Black Metal. Nothing groundbreakingly new but it just goes so hard. Just don't confuse them with "The Midnight", the difference is staggering.

Meshuggah - Immutable

When I first listened to this one, I felt like a 10 ft tall colossus and all around me was just vermin. Quite an interesting experience.
