This song was supposedly about Peter's becoming a Christian and the reaction he got from those around him.

Hey meat loaf had a song called two out of three ain't bad. So I'm guessing 18 out of 20 is pretty damn good. 😆

You've never listened to Beck, apparently.

Same, there's dozens of record stores where I live, at least 4 cater to audiophiles. The closest one to me is bicycle distance and it's the size of a grocery store.

Band meeting, and maybe you are the one that isn't as good at singing as they think. Would have everyone involved with the decision. Good luck, someone's feelings will probably get hurt.

Every band needs someone (during practice sessions) to call out mistakes.
Stop the song and figure out what's wrong
Tell him he's hitting wrong vocal notes or tell him he's messing up the guitar part etc.
If you can't take criticism in practice well you're not going to be a very good band.
If you point out a lot of mistakes hopefully he'll get the hint. There's a way kf doing it constructively. Like sing into the mic with him to try and hit the note etc.
Watch recordings of shows and critique yourself etc.
Start from a place of let's get better

Tracy Chapman is a name I seldom hear these days. She was huge in the 90s .

Subreddit here: /r/1001AlbumsGenerator
I know this has been shared in here before, but i've now reached 800 albums out of the 1001 albums in the list so i thought i'd make a short post about it.
It's a great little site that will help you to listen to one album each day, all taken from this book. Buy it and read up on the albums if you wish, or do like me and just read the Wikipedia entrance for each album generated to you.
Knowing the history behind the album and why it was added to the book really helps to appreciate stuff you might have not liked otherwise.
I went into this challenge a few years ago as i was mainly listening to the same old stuff on repeat. It has broaden my musical taste in a great way and i've learnt a lot about some great musicians and how certain (sub)genres were born out of other genres.
Here's a few highlights i've discovered that i had previously only heard about (or a few selected songs), but not listened to from beginning to end.
Nina Simeone - Wild Is The Wind
Tracy Chapman - Tracy Chapman
Duran Duran - Rio
Tom Waits - Rain Dog
Dolly Parton - Coat Of Many Colors
Wire - Pink Flag
Herbie Hancock - Head Hunters

I couldn't think of the name of the software there for a second but remembered the icon of the Colosseum on fire which led me to recalling it was called Nero. Haven't thought about that in over a decade.

I've been in a similar situation. Lead singer's voice wasn't great, but he wrote great songs. However, he recognized this and started taking lessons in vocal training. His voice improved dramatically over some months. The vocal improvement boosted his confidence which made him a better front man. All this just to say that there's hope.
