Be honest. Vocals is something you can improve with practice, but you can't do it if you don't even know it's a problem.

And as a decent singer who struggled with being a frontman for a long time, I suggest trying to build up their confidence by literally making that be part of the band practice. They need to get used to not being judged/feeling self conscious while they rock out to the music.

What is Boomer music?

As a boomer (only just) I get a little tired of people using the term in what always seems a derogatory manner.

You do realize that people at the age of 60 (me) can and do listen to any music. I've got friends that are 10-15 years younger than me, but have playlists that quite frankly make me yawn, because often they are listening to what their parents listened to. I've always kept up to date with music (why I'm here), yet I often feel I'm not welcome on social media due to my age.

I've had my say, and now I'm off to play some GTA and listen to Faith No More, SOAD, and maybe some Muse.

Hey guys I started working on this ship but the captain isn't what I expect a captain to be. All the other boats seem to just ignore him, and he hasn't put anybody in the brig in like, a really long time.

Does anyone have any experience with mutiny? We really like his boat, but again he's really just kind of in-the-way of us sailing it to better waters...

Sounds like a different issue altogether but I have a mix of music anywhere from 40s to released this year that I enjoy listening to as full albums. Not here to throw recommendations at you but it seems like you're just kinda making up generalizations based on what you've been exposed to.

Truthfully in my collection the oldest albums are the ones that tend to be the least cohesive. Think old jazz and country that only got released as compilations like greatest hits albums. The concept of a cohesive album has only been more solidified in the past century, at least in the non-classical contemporary music world.

Try the "Gordon Ramsey".

That's fucked! You're bonkers! Tell me honestly you don't think there's a problem with what you just did...

You have got to be the. worst. frontman I've ever seen in my entire life.

I only see one problem with this band and it's YOU!

then once he starts crying, be like

Yo man we got you some voice lessons and signed you up for improv classes to work on your showmanship, you're really an incredibly important part of the band, and we want to help you start taking charge, open up, and put our band back on the map.

Oh and we got you some new clothes... Wear them...

It depends on what type of lyrics you are looking for. Not to mention, “rock music” is a very broad category. What bands do you like?

A good example for me, I had exited a relationship a year or so before, but “lose somebody” by kygo and one republic came on. I had never heard it before. Had no clue what it was about, but the intro piano had me welling up.

There’s raw emotion in music. And I literally can’t explain it.

I don’t know the psychological reasoning behind it.

But I have written songs that have made girls cry when listening.

I think it’s just relatability. If something in the music or lyrics resonates with them on a personal level it makes you feel some type of way.

Sometimes a beautiful chord progression will give me goose bumps, or make me think of my dad etc

I’ve definitely cried listening to a song, before words even start.

One has to be in the proper mood, too.

My favorite is Halber Mensch, perhaps because it was the first I heard (on a college radio station - I miss those days). Tabula Rasa is a nice album for me because it has a nice mix of the ambient (Blume) and the noisy (Headcleaner).

Swans are another of those bands that I love, but find very few people in my circle who agree.

yeesh, looking at their lowest rated and most controversial albums and I'm floored by how awful this project's collective tastes are. Birthday Party and Boards of Canada at sub 3 averages? No thanks.
