I think he was talking about 900 broad street. It’s funny he said that because no action as took place on that site yet and the tower got approved same time or before halo towers original design got approved. I honestly don’t think that tower will ever get built, but it would be cool if it did.

Newark art museum, newark public library next door, Halsey st has great food options up and down. These are all in the same area/right next to each other. And the cathedral basilica of the sacred heart is lovely, but probably not worth the short trek out with limited time.

Is the DJ still there everyday? The last 3 times we went, the music was so loud our table was shaking and we couldn’t hear anything lol

A visit to Newark isn’t complete without grabbing some excellent Spanish/Portuguese food in the Ironbound area, highly recommend that although it may not be the best fit for your Vegetarian guests.

The Ironbound neighborhood. My fav restaurants are Casa D Paco, Mompou, and Burke’s Tavern.

Tops Diner is probs my favorite diner in the states and would absolutely have options for everyone - especially those of you not even remotely interested in an all-veggie menu

seconding this. urban vegan is awesome, and if anyone in your party doesn't feel like trying anything meatless, the same owner has a restaurant called cornbread two doors down. for sure some of my favorite fried chicken i've ever had (in new jersey at least)!

Newark will never be Hoboken. Brooklyn will never be Manhattan. But! Newark will become a place where people actually care about. Year by year more people are watching Newark. People are coming into Newark saying I can make money here. As the rent prices keep rising and more out of Towner's come in willing to spend high rent money. Things will change. Garbage cans will pop up. Better restaurants will pop up. More up to date infrastructure will pop up. Then it's too late. People of Newark need to put their money together and start creating better opportunities. 10 years Newark will be a place where 50 percent of people living here can not afford.

People need to not get too ahead of themselves. Newark is a long long way away from the other places mentioned. New towers are expensive, but huge swaths of the city are still some of the most affordable areas in the region. It's going to be a longgg time until/if folks are truly priced out akin to Hoboken.
