I would say it stacks up extremely well..but the prices gave it the edge. You could get a beef miso ramen with two eggs, corn, crabs, spicy, and like an appetizer for like 24 bucks (including a drink).

It was a super popular place with students, locals, and hell even people who had a layover would stop by on occasions.

They also did pretty good sushi as well.

The comments here don’t sound responsive to the actual article.

He never denied the mistake or attempted to justify it. The entire article is essentially saying, “get off Newark’s dick, we made a mistake but we are working well at other things, and you all dragging this feels like an excuse to dogpile Newark as always” which is a totally understandable feeling. Especially when there were jokes like “who would want to be sister cities with Newark?” made. He’s defensive because he mismanaged the reputation of an already undervalued city and people are pointing & laughing. It’s embarrassing and he’s human. I know he should’ve been smart enough to prevent this from happening at all. But critiquing this response he’s giving just sounds unnecessarily cold.

Banks don't lend money developers based on how much they're going to charge for rent. They lend based on How likely they are to make a return profit & potential risk on the money they loan to developer.

Tax abatements and pilot programs lower the risk to Banks, allowing them to lend more easily in areas they consider high risk and traditionally redlined.

A major Housing Development was built in the vicinity of Watssessing ave station right along the footprint where the orange Branch used to cross over the m&e. Njt should extend the Newark light rail another three blocks west and building a station platform for these residents. As well as allow for future extension Westward toward West Orange.

Haven’t been to those places, so I can’t comment on how good it is in comparison.

I can say that it was my favorite ramen place in NJ and I went to a handful before/after it burned down. Really good vibe, Boba cafe right next door, prices were affordable, quality was good.
