I don't actually have any information that I could give you right now without asking someone, I just know people that I could ask. I was more thinking if you were having trouble figuring out where to call or any of that, or had specific questions, I could ask someone for you. Feel free to direct message me if you'd rather not ask here.

“Nothing kills culture more than a yuppie,” Nasto said. “If you keep putting these new condos in there, they are the only ones that are going to be able to buy them. And then the neighborhood will just be filled with Starbucks and Jamba Juice.”

Oh that's wonderful. I have yet to call. Do you mind explaining some in direct messages?

They're Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences now (RIP UMDNJ). If you have any trouble, I represent union members that do that kind of work there, u/Beauty8670, if find you need some help knowing what's available/the process there.

I don't think you understood the intent of my comment. I'm not telling you that that's how teaching should be, or that it's OK. I'm just saying what you're saying that is wrong with teaching in Newark sounds like teaching in a widespread way in the US, not just in Newark. I have no doubt that it's even harder in Newark, but I've heard same complaints from people all over the place.

Yeah it’s definitely gonna be a much different neighborhood over the next ten years.

I went to one of these in Denver and it was a blast. Obviously go during the night time for the intended effect.
The lights are synced to the music station which is fun, and the overall vibe is very chill and laid back.
I haven't been to this one yet but I do know the owners and they're super good people.
With this and Newark Moonlight Cinema, these guys have added 2 more events of variety to the city and I hope by supporting this, it inspires more people to do the same along with making what we have rn, better for next time.

If you have small children they will enjoy it most likely. Everyone drives at like 2mph so they can be unbuckled and jump around the car looking at things.
Maybe I am cynical but if you are an adult only group make sure you bring a good attitude and are ready to act silly because it's not exactly the most impressive thing in the world..

Bring a car full of people and your own treats. The food is meh but the lights are pretty cool. There’s also a special radio station with Christmas music you can tune into.

There is a bigger one just one block away on the corner of Broad Street and Market. The two were too close together and we're pretty much competing with each other. It also had 2 Krousers stores equal distance both north and south of it on Halsey. 1 krauser on Raymond Boulevard and Halsey, the other on Halsey Street teachers Village.

Newark generally has poor lighting in most spots I’ve found. Very dim and dark in most of the city.

Does that say 50% off? Closing sale? This was a decent 7-11

Why is beer not sold in the 7-11s here? Is that a Newark, or jersey thing?

They need more lighting down on those streets way to dark and easy for someone to hide.

I'm curious what options there are. I was interested in Spanish and found one place but just checked and they only offer English/Spanish https://cclsnj.edu/spanish-course
Might be useful to combine an online course with a language exchange. I was thinking about just taking courses through italki as its a more 1 on 1 thing, but if it was something local that would be nice.
