Didn't he help fund Monty Python and The Holy Grail because he wanted to see it?

It was the Life of Brian. The Holy Grail was funded by Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd, amongst others.

I know he produced Time Bandits, which Terry Gilliam directed and co-wrote with Michael Palin, and starred John Cleese. So Monty Python had their hands all in that.
