The Black Watch Regiment of Canada in Normandy after storming Juno Beach in the second wave. They would go on to fight in 30 more battles in France, Netherlands, and Germany. Just a bunch of kids who volunteered. My grandfather was only 17 when he joined, 18 in this picture.

It is absolutely mind blowing to have that kind of fortitude at that age. I cried after failing my driving test at 16.
