Around this time, my parents were at a party with me and my dad was “getting into it” with another party guest who happened to be active Army. I guess they were doing their part for the Navy versus Army tradition, but apparently it was rapidly becoming a little too heated for comfort.

Story goes that my dad [who was holding me at the time] had been going back & forth with him when the Army guy spurted out, “that baby sure is ugly!” This was the final straw. My dad responded by going silent, carefully passing me to my mother, and punching the guy squarely in the face.

TLDR; My dad punched an Army guy in the face for calling me an ugly baby at a party.
