Nothing but respect for that man. He looks cold and frightened. Glad he made it out alive.

I accidentally clicked on this post and honestly thought it was Johnny Lawrence. He's super handsome and adorable.

Doesn’t matter when the photo was taken, that ‘71 machine is old school cool.

Your grandfather has all of my respect to endure that at such a young age as well. Such a hard generation of guys.
My grandfather fought in Korea at 18, and is known as an “Atomic Marine” since he got to witness some nuclear explosions with other Marines in trenches and stuff. I only know of that because of a news article of him.

My great uncle was there, too. He kept warm by drinking hot lemonade made from powder, but still got some nerve damage in his feet. Never liked lemonade after that!

Love it! My second grade retrospect photo has a bit of my neck showing like your dad’sis showing. Eats my mother up to this day. She made the school photographers retake the photos, but I still have one of the originals. Makes me laugh whenever I see it.

We see so little of the grandparent generation while they are youthful (that aren't in pics).
Oh, and that hair... :)
