Yikes! How things have changed. I’ve been pretty lucky despite traveling tons by car for my work back then.

My Step Dad hit a car that pulled out in front of him on a back road highway, he was going 55+. He survived, but it was bad. The front looked like an accordion. That was a different one he’d gotten himself that was very short lived. He’d been a Cadillac guy and went back to them afterwards.

In the movie The Devil's Brigade, one of the characters was highly athletic and claimed to be from the Ringling brothers.

Did they all actively play football at the time and were just dressing up for the hell of it or was this a Halloween theme they had?

I'd say extra large shoulder pads and super short shorts.

Siamese cats were a very popular breed of cats in the seventies when we had three. After a short while into my youth we only had one gradma and a step dad. Because of the step dad we no longer had 3 Siamese cats, two less dogs and I’m pretty sure at the time I turned 18 , it was the end of my place in the family.

Think on this, back then it was a cool pic. Today at least 2 federal and 2 state and local authorities would show up to toss their houses and steal the gun.

He looks like he's from a mid-2000s stoner comedy.

Did you do some research? Are you sticking with that story? If “Hollywood” was protecting him it would have been during the first trial. If your story were true “Hollywood” would have written him off before a third trial.

Reply to Family of 'Dust Bowl' refugees reach a promised land (California) in the flight from drought, 1936 by eaglemaxie
I have a very similar photo of my great grandparents leaving Amarillo, TX in 1932, but they had mattresses and rugs tied to the top and front. My grandmother was 1 month old and made the trip from TX to SoCal in a dresser drawer in the back seat.
Our family lived and thrived in the Los Angeles area until just the last few years. With the cost of living and insane population growth, nearly all of us “kids” have moved away, either to Idaho or Northern California.
I cannot believe that 90 years ago, SoCal was the Promise Land.
