Sorry for being pedantic, but that is an old Dodge Power Wagon, not a Jeep. Cool picture.

I loved that show when I was a kid. I had such a crush on Davy Jones. Trouble was I was watching reruns in the 80s/90s and I remember entertainment tonight or some such had the monkees on and I was CRUSHED (and confused) to learn my crush was now an old man.

My oldest brother is the only child my mother already had before she met our Dad (who adopted him). Our parents both were very short, but his biological father was very tall. He still stands out, literally, as the only tall of us, he’s 1,89m. All other siblings below 1,70. I’m 1,55m, the shortest (5f)

I honestly feel badly that Anne Murray brings you these memories but also, as an outsider, I really appreciate the hilarity of this tale.

Going off what was written on the back. He joined the US Navy at age 17 (1938) and served all during WWII; at Normandy, in South Africa, in Europe, at Pearl Harbor.

I got to meet her before a show at Chastain Amphitheater. They were doing a sound check while I was finishing modifications to the concession stands. Nice lady. The client told us to give them whatever they asked for on the house. The crew were smoking a joint in the middle of the seating.

Heck, back when I worked at Target in 2011-13 the parents still hadn't figured it out. One parent would be shopping for Christmas gifts from Santa while the other was in the store with the kids trying to keep them away from the other parent. (Oh, and I'd also get yelled at if I didn't bag the toys quickly enough in case the prying eyes were nearby). Not sure why they didn't just have one stay at home with the kids.
