There's a sequoia in California I've been inside that was carved out to be a bar back in the days.

Well that’s just rude innit? I mean if it’s your house and your wall, go nuts, right? But I’ll be damned if your gonna go into someone else’s home and start throwing things at they’re beautiful walls looking for something to stick! I won’t abide it. I won’t abide it one god damn bit…

Well yeah, these two things are tightly correlated. The further away from Edison and his influence, the more likely the courts were to not just defer to him.
Once the decision was made to move so far away, then the question was: where? And now all those things you mentioned start to play a role. It should be someplace sunny, with a decent amount of good, stable weather, with some infrastructure already in place.

Loved Man on the Moon, but for anyone thinking Jim Carrey was the perfect choice, go back and compare scenes from the movie to the real life clips. He's known as an over actor for a reason, and should have taken it down a notch or two. That being said, I still loved the movie and can't think of anyone that would have done better, so I'm just bitching about it for the sake of bitching about it. The reddit way.

Yeah I think unless you experience it, it’s hard to understand what the smoke was like back then. Those comedy clubs aren’t well ventilated, often underground. You make a good point.
