Interestingly enough based in Salt Lake City, which may be why he did not become a star in the rest of the world.

For sure. I don't know how much of a difference it made (probably a lot) but I think the original hole was made by a fire and they hollowed it out further to drive through it.
The only good thing that may have come from stuff like this is it allowed the average person to be up close and personal with these trees by making them a tourist attraction which in turn might have helped with their preservation.

This never would have worked on me. All of my favorite stuff was at home...vacations were always fun, but I'd prefer to be home, most of the time.

Why was it necessary to cut an opening in the tree when it would have been easier to make a path around the tree?

It's how we abbreviate 1960s.

At least he took care of business before he went…or I wouldn’t be here.

Target was the best store that sold C64 stuff in 80s. It was the period after Atari 2600s and before Nintendos so it was just a couple shelves. Not a fancy electronics department.

He absolutely is at heart, but was somehow born and bred in Washington DC! He left before he was 18 for forestry school and never wanted to live in a city like that again.
