A Chicago kid with his family at the cottage in Horton’s Bay up near Charlevoix, Michigan. Frank Lloyd Wright houses in his neighborhood back home. Dad’s a depressed physician. Mom’s a nutcase who dressed him like his sister. Nature is the balm. Rainbow trout in that wicker creel and at the business end of that cane pole. The straw hat hung on a hook near the back door where Nick Adams drank his whiskey and kicked off his boots. Just up the dirt road from the mill where Liz Coates welcomed home Jim Gilmore.

Wow, what a time to see them, peak disco. Yeah Lionel always was a diva, that doesn’t ruin the memory at all though I am sure.
