That is not what I'd expect a woman named Geraldine to look like.

How do you think CNN and others would treat him these days? Successful outspoken republican black athlete still wouldn’t get much love from the same group of people as back then. I guess unless you believe in the switching of political parties and FDR was actually a republican or whatever nonsense they say.

Apparently the studio had real problems with this! During the whole movie making they were dumbfounded that Kurt Russell’s character behave the way he did and wasn’t some major hero.

Thank you. I have no clue where or when this was taken, and only found found it years after his death when his younger brother died. We also only have a few black and whites from those times, mostly group pictures and such. This one stands out. I wish I had seen this picture while he lived, to get the story behind it.

"So, you're saying that I could sell Tupperware in my free time to make a little extra money? I don't even have to leave my neighborhood if I don't want to? This sounds too good to be true. What is a 'Tupperware party' anyway? I like the idea of helping my friends make money, God knows everyone could use a little extra cash these days, but I don't understand how me helping them helps me even more. You're just going to have to explain this one more time before I decide."

I don't think being a democrat/republican had anything to do with Owens treatment

What did you have to try and squeeze in some republican dig to distract from a democrat president treated him poorly?
